If we stop feeding the monster, the monster will die
If Trump is reinstated on Twitter and there is no one left to read his drivel, was he really reinstated?
I believe Musk when he says that Twitter usage is at an all-time high:
“And … we just hit another all-time high in Twitter usage lol,” the tech mogul tweeted late Thursday. Earlier, Musk had tweeted, “The best people are staying, so I’m not super worried.”
He is right to be not “super worried.”
People are addicted to Twitter, and he is feeding that addiction with drama. He even asked the remaining Twitter users whether Trump should be reinstated on Twitter:
Elon Musk posted a poll on Twitter on Friday evening asking users to vote on whether former U.S. President Donald Trump, who was banned from the social media site by its previous owners, should be reinstated to the social media site.
The overlooked “secret” is that his little poll is irrelevant. Twitter is private property, and they can ban or reinstate whomever they want. But if Trump is reinstated on Twitter and there is no one left to read his drivel, was he really reinstated?
Musk posted that poll to stir up drama and drive traffic. A much stronger vote would be not going to Twitter anymore, even to lurk.
If we stop feeding the monster, the monster will die.
